Editing help requested

So we've had a few snafus with our church bulletin and I thought maybe this group could help me edit and spellcheck before the next issue comes out. Those cute little blue-hairs who type just can't quite get it right. Perhaps there's no key on their typewriters with a little blue wheelchair.

Are you willing to help with our bulletin content?

------
The Fasting & Prayer Conference includes meals.
------
The sermon this morning: 'Jesus Walks on the Water.' The sermon tonight: 'Searching for Jesus.'
-------
Our youth basketball team is back in action Wednesday at 8 PM in the recreation hall. Come out and watch us kill Christ the King.
-------
Ladies, don’t forget the rummage sale. It's a chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house. Bring your husbands.
--------
Please place your do nation in the envelope along with the deceased person you want remembered.
-------
The church will host an evening of fine dining, super entertainment and gracious hostility.
-------
Potluck supper Sunday at 5:00 PM - Prayer and medication to follow.

ahhh, the "bulletin errors" list. I have a whole book of these. Usually good for a smile. You did a great avoiding the groan worthy. My favorite groan worthy is, "weight watchers meeting Tuesday at 6pm, please use double doors on side of church."

My favorite is the Church rummage sale in the basement with the ladies casting off clothes of all kinds....What is a "do nation envelope"?

No really. What DOES the wheelchair mean??

Nick the Geek said...

The wheelchair is for people who cannot complete the word verification due to a handicap. Blindness being on of the biggies.

They have software that reads the screen or converts it into braille but it doesn't help with images so it is impossible for them to submit a comment. The wheelchair allows them to access a verification they can complete. I haven't tried it but I"m guessing it is an audio file.

Thanks Nick. That makes a lot of sense.
