Untitled (Because the Story is Too Awesome to Sum up in a Few Kitchy Words)
But the other day I was looking at a blog that included this video. It is NOT a silly video at all, though. I hope that when God demands I pray for the "impossible", I listen even if I am afraid of looking like a dope.

Get up, Stand up and Dance- OR- How to Start a Cult
There are two kinds of people are prominent in the world; those who stand for something they believe in, and those who are weird and want attention.
People who hold out and separate themselves from the pack due to an undeniable belief in some principle will find themselves alone at times. They may or may not find some like-minded compatriot by their side, but if they do, everyone else had better watch out, because according to this short little gem of a video, a movement is about to begin.
Then there are those who are complete weirdos. These types are thinking (or not) on their own "plane of existence" and flail and hop around then call it dancing. If these people get their first follower, you can expect trends and terrible clothing lines to follow, maybe even a cult. If it becomes a movement, then you can anticipate a kool-aid craze and casualties to follow.

Even God Strongly Dislikes Tuesdays

Dearest people,
I can't stand it anymore! I've heard enough of you crying out to me that I just can't hold back any longer, I have to say something. I know you all hate Tuesdays and I get that you wonder why I even made the stupid day. I know that I'm perfect, and you say that you believe so, but you still have your reservations every once in a while. Don't lie about it, I can read your minds. It isn't much different from cracking a fortune cookie open, only you're less profound than one of those itty-bitty morsels of goodness most of the time!
Regardless, I am perfect and don't do anything wrong. But... if I were to go back and do it all over again, I might skip Tuesday in the whole creation thing. I could do it now if I wanted, but I don't roll like that, so just know it isn't going to happen, no matter what I say tonight.
If I'm being honest, (why do I say that? It isn't like I can lie) I'd have to admit that I hate Tuesdays too. You see, they're just so difficult. They aren't like Mondays that go by fast because half of you are too busy nursing hangovers and the other half are playing catchup from Friday. They aren't encouraging like Wednesdays because the work week is half over. Thursdays are nice because Friday is tomorrow, and they're certainly not like Fridays because believe it or not, I party on Fridays more than you little humans do.
Tuesdays are hard even for Me because they go slower than Mondays, more than half of the week is waiting for Me and I have to listen to all of you complain about it. I can't wait to get to the weekend either because that's when I get to chill out on a throne of your praise even though half of you are still singing songs from 1992. You need to cut that out and get with the times, alright?
Either way, I'm debating on taking Tuesday out of Heaven. I have more flexibility here because everyone up in this joint gets to see Me and what I'm up to all the time and they don't freak out like you all do down there whenever I start something new.
BTW my people, Tuesday is almost over for this week.
Lovies,
God

The Day I Said NO to Katdish
Eating some cereal, playing scrabble and relaxing with hardly a care in the world.
I was woken from my day-dreaming state by the rude sound of my phone buzzing and beeping to tell me that I had a new text message.
I hurried to check the message, maybe it was a sweet note from my wife. Excitedly I grabbed the phone and read what was on the screen.
It wasn't from my wife. It wasn't from my wife at all.
It was from Katdish. Another request for me to do something for her.
Great.
It was then that a thought entered my mind, one which I had previously kept firmly at bay one which, had my mind not been dwelling on the disappointment of the text NOT being from my wife, would never have made it past my mental barricade.
"What If I said "NO"?"
Oooo, the thrill just of thinking that swept over me.
What would that be like? Could I do it?
There would certainly be a back-lash. Did I have what it takes to survive such an onslaught?
Billy Coffey, the great writer of fictional truths (as he describes himself) has often told me he'd 'have my back' in these situations.
I've never been quite sure what that phrase means, but I find it quite comforting and even emboldening.
YES! I could do it. I could grow a spine and say NO!
Boldly I reached out to type the word but as I did so, something prodded at the back of my mind... the phrase "fictional truths" started spreading doubt through my consciousness.
What does Billy Coffey mean by fictional truths? Does he mean that not every word he writes is the complete truth? If so, how do we know which words to believe and which not to?
How can I believe that he would 'have my back'? Maybe that was just a fictional phrase he created to trick me into stepping into a minefield from which there was no escape.
I slumped back in my chair.
The doubt was too great. I couldn't run that risk.
I resigned myself to my usual answer of "Yes, Ma'am" -until, that is, my cunning mind thought of another possibility:
What if I said no anyway, even though I didn't mean it?
How would that be?... A shiver ran down my spine.
I could say no, and do the work at the same time thus experiencing the thrill of saying no yet having the protection of being able to prove I was only joking.
Without a second thought, I typed those two glorious letters:
N O
Clicking send, I waited for the expected emotional rush....
It never came.
Maybe it was the fear or reprisals at my little joke, or maybe it was the knowledge that I was lying. Whichever it was, I felt strangely empty.
After the emotional roller coaster of the last seven seconds (which is all this whole process had taken), this was a huge let down.
I don't know... is this how it would feel to say no for real?
Would there be no adrenaline-filled payoff to offset the retaliation which would be sure to follow?

Hey Look a new website!

I reserve the right to use this blog to shamelessly self promote myself. But y'all do too, so there you go.
I'm releasing my new website to the rest of the world next week (probably), but wanted y'all to come over and connect with me on Google Friends connect so I don't look like a total loser when everyone else goes over there. I know you'll do this because you love me, and not because I can revoke your publishing rights on this blog.

Not that I would ever do that...
Look who's coming to supper...as we say here in the South.
I'd like to thank all the people (Katdish) who finally realized I was a big fish in a small pond and plucked me from the scum...
Now where in the heck am I?
To honor this occasion, please allow me to post a song to commemorate from a living legend...Mr. Barry Manilow!
(Since his stuff is obviously copy written material, I found a suitable substitute to sing these powerful words of inspiration written by none other than the man himself...Barry Manilow)

Stripper says Good Morning
I wish I could say the smile stamped across my face right now was because I had read my Bible or had my favorite coffee. Or that I was wearing some odd underwear. That would be normal. But the truth is, this male stripper did the trick. Actually, I've been surfing youtube for all the crazy dancers in between business calls. Needless to say, I've had an incredible day so far! I just figured if anyone's having one of those crappy Mond.... Pre-Tuesdays, this might help. This following video reminds me of myself when I "get down."

Time for something new?
For less than $50 a year we can register a domain name and host with none other than Peter Pollock. We can setup a WordPressMU blog and create a social site on the BuddyPress platform. This allows for Activity Streams, Extended Profiles, Extensible Groups, Friend Connections, Messaging, Forums, and WP blogging.
I would be happy to get it setup and provide the premium buddypress theme package (this will cost my $80 but I can use this in other places for my design business)
Is this something that should be considered?

Help Us Make This Experience As Awkward As Possible
I'm thinking that we could do even more to make them feel even more awkward. How you ask? I'm thinking to take this poll at the beginning of Mass, and then make the newcomers wear newspaper hats. Maybe we can even attach balloons onto their pew right behind their backs. After that, I am at a loss for suggestions. I plan on bringing this up to the Parish Council President, and I need some more ideas, in case Greg doesn't like the ones I have already come up with.
So. How do you like standing up in front of a congregation you don't know to be welcomed? (Can you tell I don't? And it is really awkward when visiting a small Church because you know they know they don't know you and not standing is the same as lying, so by not standing, you have just confessed being a liar to a congregation you don't even know.) How could we make you feel more awkward, er, I mean welcome?
And no fair borrowing ideas from this video! We need original ways to make people wonder why they even bothered!
I'm submitting this for Wendy's Life is Funny Blog Carnival. WhY? Because FOTTSPers have been lax in showing Wendy the love! You FOTTSPERS should really get with the program and start participating in Wendy's Life is Funny blog carnival. Why haven't you done that yet? C'mon! Get a right on that! TWSS.

Happy Birthday, Wolfie Mo
Once upon a time, during the 1991 Mozart Bicentennial, the Mozarteum decided to open its vaults and archives to the general public. It went without saying that a great number of tourists, scholars, music lovers and Mozart affectionados took all of the guided tours.
As one very young man and his parents were passing through the hallowed halls, the tour guide actually took them into an inner sanctum where teams of archaeologists and anthropologists were furiously busy constructing clay and plaster likenesses of the great WAM, with varying degrees of success.
"Those are pretty good!" The very young man exclaimed.
"Yes," the tour guide nodded proudly. "They are based on castings made from a skull believed to be mozart's. You an see the skull for yourself, under the glass case."
The battered, pitiful skull looked dolefully back at them from under a brass name plate, which had been firmly nailed into the cranium. What was even more curious was the even smaler skull beside it.
"Whose skull is that?" The very young man asked.
"Oh, that one is the skull of Mozart as a child."

The Wisdom (and Wit) of King Solomon...
Two women came before wise King Solomon, dragging between them a young man in a three-piece suit.
“This young lawyer agreed to marry my daughter,” said the first woman.
“No! He agreed to marry MY daughter,” said the other. And so they haggled before the King until he called for silence.
“Bring me my biggest sword,” said Solomon, “and I shall cut the young attorney in half. Each of your daughters shall receive a half.”
“Sounds good to me,” said the first woman.
But the other woman said, “Oh Sire, do not spill innocent blood. Let her daughter marry him.”
The wise king did not hesitate a moment. “The attorney must marry the first lady’s daughter,” he proclaimed.
“But she was willing to cut him in two!” exclaimed second woman.
“Indeed,” said wise King Solomon. “That shows she is the TRUE mother-in-law."
I suppose tomorrow I shall be grateful that my mom and my husband get along so well....
