Can't keep a good man down.

Apparently if you grew up in Australia in the 1980's, you could not avoid seeing this advertisement. It was run by the Christian Television Alliance, but I am not clear if they are advertising CTA, or Jesus.

Be warned, the chorus is catchy.

So what do you think? Is this poor taste, or just really cheesy?

You know, that's just stupid.

Cheesy? Oh, heck yeah. If it was meant to be campy, then that's another thing, but I really don't think they meant it to be, which makes it even worse.

It is sort of catchy though, huh?

I have mixed feelings. I mainly didn't like the upbeat describing Jesus's suffering and death. Otherwise it would have been good in a Vacation Bible School sort of way.

This just made me giggle.

But from the title I thought you were going to make fun of this song. Which is also a bit cheesy, but I just can't hate on my Christian Contemporary Music upbringing because I tend to sing along even now...plus the Newsong guys really do have excellent hearts...

Okay, off to ramble somewhere else.

Indeed.

"And they hung him up to die
TO DIE. TO DIE. TO DIE"
may just be the all time low point of Christian Music.

Some day they will market Christian cheese and we will dominate because we make so much and it really is the best. SciFi (SyFy) will come close, but then they will change the name and confuse people who will then just switch to Christian Cheese.
