It's HOT and, yeah, I'm blessed

Two posts in a row. Oh the humanity!

Well Smartypantsers, it's hot in the bowels of hell...otherwise known as Texas. I'm posting this next photo as a public service announcement on behalf of myself and Katdish. When we ask you to pray for us during the Texas summer, we ain't jickin' around. Exhibit A my friends:

If the glare is in the way, I'll clarify; that says 109. What's really sad is I took this in my shaded driveway about 7 pm last night as I was headed out to the grocery store.

And now for my next photo. Call me blessed if you must, but I think Jesus appeared to me as I was doing laundry the other night. I picked up a load of semi-wet towels (because God-forbid my kids lay them out to dry after swimming...but I digress) When I put the towels in the washer, this was on my nightgown:

It looks like Jesus to me. My husband isn't fully convinced oh he of little faith. What do you all think?

I need to clean my car. Please excuse the dust in the picture. I live within a mile of a cement plant, so dust is a way of life for me...

Or I just never clean my car, you be the judge...

Looks more like Che Guevara to me!

I won't judge the dust. Dust bunnies consider my home a sort of refuge. But why is Jesus appearing on your nightie? Is there anything you want to get off your chest? Okay, let me rephrase that...Confession, anyone?

You can come visit me in Alaska. If we get to 85 this summer we'll be doing great.

And sorry, I think the "miracle" looks more like Jesse James or one of those old cowboy photos to me... :)

I'm right there with you in the heat department over here in FL. However, where we lack in higher degrees we compensate with HUMIDITY.

Argh.

And, I'm pretty sure that's an image of the prophet Mohammed and may need to be taken down as to not offend anyone...

That or it's the picture of Jeff Hogan from Katdish's blog... hmmm...

I think it looks like Cat Stevens.

Jesus has a fro. I think I see his pick sticking out just above his left ear.

It's in the high 80s here today. After 12 years here, I'm FINALLY getting used to GA summers. I think I'd melt in TX.

(Funny - at first I typed GA simmers. Which is kinda accurate, I guess.)

Cat Stevens...I didn't even think of that. I do enjoy Peace Train, so perhaps that's what this message was all about. I could use some peace right now and Cat was trying to tell me to chill out about the laundry. Kat, you're so insightful!

But if something odd shows up in my toast, I'm calling the vatican...

Helen said...

Marni, my bet is the vatican will tell you to eat it.

Helen brought her A game today folks...look out! ;-)

Just a couple quick things. If that is Jesus he was trying to tell u something. Go north to the land of the it does reach 100 till august. Holy freak 109 and it isn't even July yet? Ur gonna die.

Also God has spared me and we will not be flying thru DFW tomorrow. We got cancelled and rebooked to LAX. We get to leave later and arrive earlier but the layover is gonna be tight. Upside is that if we miss the connection we just get to LA a few days early and miss out on seeing my in laws new church. Of course I am suppose to preach on Sunday but whatever.

Wow. 109? Sure that's not a radio station?

I get a little jealous when you Southern-like people start talking about Spring in March and it's blizzard conditions here, but...I think I'm glad I live in a land of four true seasons.

And never, ever apologize for the state of your car. I think 1 or 2 people may have died in the clutter of my car and I just haven't found them yet....

And bman, I've been to your fine state twice (to see the Mouse). The first time we went in June. Wow. I needed a spoon to breathe the air and I thought I understood humidity, but I was wrong. And these random yet massive storms would bust out during the day and we would be cowering in a corner and all the locals would be all "oh that's not a big storm and it will pass in a few minutes". I think I still have some residual PTSD when I see lightning.

The second time (again, to see the Mouse) we went in late October. And it was still so hot, we were hanging at the water parks. Does it EVER cool off in Florida? I mean in Texas, we have two seasons, but I'm wondering if you guys don't just have one...

And Jason, there is talk of a cruise to your beautiful state. We'll see...

But Alaska is definitely on mine and my hubs' bucket list! :) :) :)
