Muppets go to Mexico

I didn't want to step on anyone's post so I've scheduled this for tomorrow which is today but that gets confusing when dealing with time travel like that. Anyways, ever wonder about what the Muppets have been up to lately? Yeah they are on "vacation" in Mexico.

Enjoy.

Wait...did you hear that?

That was the sound of Jim Henson rolling over in his grave.

Nick the Geek said...

I imagine if he rolled over in his grave two things would happen. First it would involve a crew of undead puppeteers, and second Statler and Waldorf would mock him for it.

Annie K said...

Are the muppets still taking Manhattan?

And did you all see that on my latest post someone actually left a comment (anonymously) and told me that I seem annoying...

If they only knew.

Helen said...

I LOVE the muppets, and this was still funny. Especially Swedish chef trying to call down Beaker.

Sherri Murphy said...

Muppets rule, puppets drool!

Annie- You ARE NOT annoying.

Candy said...

Where are Bert and Ernie? Aren't they Muppets any more? What's YOUR favorite Muppets song? Mine is "I Don't Want to Live on the Moon." Still have all the words memorized, and yes, I just teared up watching this...again. Don't do this to an old lady.

Annie, "annoying" is a virtue in your case. It quite possibly is one of those unmentioned fruits of the spirit.

Wendy said...

Annie - You're annoying? Wow, I wish I could be annoying... Can you teach me?

Candace Jean - You'd have to make a stop on Sesame Street on the way down to Mexico in order to see Bert and Ernie.

Does anyone have a problem with what I've just said here?

Beth said...

That might give me nightmares.

Nick the Geek said...

Wendy,

I have a huge problem with it. I hate when people ask if anyone has a problem with .... Anyone got a problem with that?

Beth,
Then I have succeeded today. My kids will thank you since I won't have to try and give them nightmares when I get home and my wife will thank you because she won't have a 3 year old pestering her at 3AM.

Nick the Geek said...

This sketch is missing Statler and Waldorf mocking them. They should have been the ones that got run over. "You call that a hit and run? I've been hit harder by an old lady." "That was your wife last night>" "No I think it was your wife." "Wait we don't have wives no one could put up with us."

Those guys are just awesome.

Beth said...

Nick-
There is rarely a night when I'm not awakened (awoken?) by a child with nightmares these days...especially a three year old at 3 am. I'm blessed to have smarty pants creative little kids. But the down side is that creative kids have the worst nightmares....

I know, cuz I was one of those kids. Wait, I'm STILL one of those kids!

Nick the Geek said...

Beth,

Harness the creative mind. Tell you child to change to dream into what they want. Of course that is hard for a 3 year old to grasp but by 4 or 5 it works. I think most people would consider my dreams nightmares. You wouldn't believe half of what I dream and 80% of the time it is more violent than anything on TV or in the movies. Down right disturbing stuff but I enjoy the dreams. I know it is a dream and just go with it. Trust me when I say my mind is a very scary place that no one should ever see.

Sherri Murphy said...

Nick, you don't live anywhere close to any of us here, right?

Marni said...

Sherri's comment triggered this with me. Where the heck do all of you live?? I vote for a blogroll where we announce where we live. I have Kat, Helen and Steph's locale down, but the rest of you, I'm not sure. Not that I'm going to stalk you or anything, I was just wondering. I bet Nick knows how to post some sort of website gadget on here where we map where we're from...(hint hint)

I'll go first:

I live in Midlothian, TX. I'm about 25 mins south of Dallas TX. We are the cement factory capitol of Texas. What that means is that all the residents of my town have disproportionate amounts of asthma and other lung afflictions. We're moving to Hico TX next year. Good luck finding THAT on a map once we make our move ;)

katdish said...

You're moving to Hico? Is that pronounced Hee-co or Hick-o? I'm not being a smarta$$, I really have never heard of it.

Shark Bait lives in South Africa, right?
Peter P lives in California
Huck and Stacey live in Houston, close to NASA (where Huck works an an astronaut - or something)
Candy lives in Iowa
Ryan B lives in California
Nick lives in an undisclosed location not far from where the movie "Deliverance" was inspired
Annie B lives in Bend, Oregon
Mare lives in Owerri, Nigeria (for now)
Beth lives in Terre Haute, Indiana
Sherri lives in rural Illinois
Jeff (who has disassociated himself completely from us) lives in Katy, about 5 miles from me

Feel free to correct me anyone (like I need to even say that).

Beth said...

I live in Sullivan, Indiana. It's the exciting county seat of Sullivan County! It's in Southwest Indiana. It's small. About 6,000 people. The "big city" of Terre Haute is 25 mins north of us and it's about 60,000 people. We have a lot of corn, soy beans, and melon fields in Sullivan county. And taxidermists. And good fishing, I'm told. And coal mines. And meth labs. It's easy to make fun of, but I like living here. The people are very old school, small town friendly.

Beth said...

I didn't mean to correct you, Kathy, because your comment wasn't up yet...

We've lived in Terre Haute recently as well. Kind of back and forth. It's a long story involving houses that will not sell and our subsequent dream to become slumlords. ;)

Helen said...

Wait up....Jeff has disassociated himself completely from us. Then what do we do about a blog pastor? Nick is a YOUTH pastor. I am not sure there are enough youths here for him to be pastoring. But Jeff is prepared to pastor us all! Or so I thought! What're we gonna do? Who can we get now?
He really didn't disassociate from us, did he? He's just busy, right?

katdish said...

No. Jeff's a lurker. Do you notice how often he comments on my blog? Almost never. He's out there...aren't you Jeffro?

But he is kind of busy...

Nick the Geek said...

I think the closest person to me is Steph or Beth. I think Terre Haute is closer to me. Although I am heading through DFW this summer so for a couple hours I'll be near most of you, but don't fear I won't have time to do anythign scary and make the connecting flight. I haven't been on a plane since 9-11 so I'm going to behave myself.

If it makes you all feel better my degree is a BA in Bible and a BA in Pastoral Ministries with an emphasis in counseling.

Marni said...

Hico--like "hi how are you?" The closest town is Stephenville. Nothing out there but cows, good pie at the Koffe Kup cafe, and cheap, cheap, cheap land. Ahhhh, bliss.

Thanks for letting me know where everyone is. I had no idea this blog was global. I feel so international-chic being here...like a supermodel...but short and with too much liking of donuts to be on a runway...

Marni said...

If it helps Helen's panic at us being pastorless, I'm a chaplain. I'm not bucking for the pastor job, I'm just saying I'm trained in in crisis intervention.

Helen, take some breaths and walk me through what happened to you.

Helen said...

I know what you mean, Marni. At Easter the other day, I mentioned to my husband's family that besides my own personal blog, I post on a blog with 15 friends, and they were like "YOU have fifteen friends?" Okay, they didn't say it, but the look of surprise on their faces did!

Marni said...

I hear you Helen. My husband thinks you're all my imaginary friends. Our conversations go like this:

Him: "hey babe, how was your day?"
Me: "Great! I got the Honduras offering brochure done finally. Oh, and Katdish said the funniest dang thing today!!"
Him: "what's a 'katdish'?"
Me: "you know, the funny blogger people I follow...katdish is one of them."
Him: "does this katdish talk to you too?"
Me: "duh! I told her next time we go down to Houston to see Greg and Stephanie (that's my sis and bro-in-law) we're coming to there church!"
Him: "like a website church??"
Me: "NO! Katdish is a real person who attends a real church."
Him: "and she knows you exist right? She won't be calling security over if you run up to her and tell her who you are and that you read her blog?"
Me: "duh!"

Then we have dinner. But you get the point. He was particularly impressed with my imaginary friend Beth and her grocery shopping with 3 small children story.

Nick the Geek said...

Ok if you look down a bit on the page you will see a lovely new map with some pins on it. When I get more specific locations for everyone I'll get them on the map.

Stephanie Wetzel said...

Marni - Tell your husband that your imaginary friend Steph says, "What am I, chopped (imaginary) liver?!"

Also, speaking of chopped liver.... I notice that I am conspicuously absent from the list Katdish posted.

It's the Sharpie suspicions that I voiced, Kat, isn't it? If I let you draw on me in Expo marker, can I get back on the list?

(I'll even let you draw a monkey butt! It'll be FUN!)

Stephanie Wetzel said...

Nick - once again, Chopped Liver. (But if you care where chopped liver can be found, it's metro Atlanta, GA)

Helen said...

Bob actually got to talk to Annie and Sherri, so he knows they exist outside of my imagination.
I showed him the PCB at HLAC, so he knows all about Katdish.
He knows that Mare will be nearby when she goes to Garret.
I mentioned Candy, you, Beth, and NtG as well, but I suspect he wonders sometimes how someone couped in with her mom everyday, or at least most days, gets into these discussions. He is great with spreadsheets, but social internet use has him a bit phlumoxed.

Nick the Geek said...

Steph,

I thought you lived in rural NE Georgia

Helen said...

Steph, don't feel bad. I was not on the list either. But I often mention being from Chicago, IL, so I figured she thought my reputation preceded me. Meaning I am missing on the list because NtG needs something more "specific" than Chicago, IL. How about the beige, brick, ranch style house? Does that help?

Nick the Geek said...

Like I listen to things like that. I have to be pretty selective about what I listen to.

Nick the Geek said...

BTw I added Steph and Helen

katdish said...

Um...scuse me! The reason I didn't list Steph or Helen is because Marni indicated that she already knew where the three of us lived. Sheesh!

Helen said...

Like I said. My reputation precedes me.

Beth said...

Katdish has become "that church planter lady in Texas who sents you stuff" to my husband.

I think Sherri's in West Frankfort, IL? I'll have to check. She's the closest blogger to me, followed by Helen...and then NtG. Cool! You can zoom in! And it shows our names and everything.

katdish said...

Tell Frank I said you're welcome. Also, I have an amusing little chicken that lays gumballs if he's interested...

Let's not get too specific. I haven't done google analytics on this blog yet, but just to tell you, I have a reader from the California Department of Corrections. Just saying...

Stephanie Wetzel said...

Nick, I AM in rural NE GA. If you look at a map of GA, the rural northeast is just northeast of Atlanta. ;)

I figure I can be at the ATL airport inside of an hour on a good traffic day, so I'm metro Atlanta.

Plus I'm trying to be "cagey" about my location. Otherwise my parole officer gets grumpy. (Hey Katdish! Nice to see that you noticed me following you!)

Beth said...

Dude, I'm the only person with my last name in a three or four county area. If you want to find me, you can find me. But I pity da foo who thinks that they can mess with me...

Okay, I'm just really really good at hiding if I hear a scary noise.

Nick the Geek said...

I just ant to say I was looking at my house and... you can totally see my house in scary detail. I'm going to stop peeing off the back porch now.

Candy said...

Marni's husband and Ron Burgundy must be constipring. At Easter dinner:

Him: "Mom, tell everybody about your imaginary friends you're going to be famous with someday"

Me: "They're not imaginary. Imaginary people can't email. And I even talked to one on the phone so I know she's real. She's the first person I've known who talks in typos."

Son: "How do you know these people aren't ax murderers?"

Me: "Shut up and pass the corn"

Them: "We can't. You forgot to bring it."

Helen, thank you for "phlumoxed." It's now my favorite word.

Candy said...

How come I'm not on the map? I'm only 80 miles from the Field of Dreams and in the heart of John Deere country.

Sherri Murphy said...

I live in So. Illinois, but I would prefer that a map/link not be posted directly to my small town, can it just be linked to So. Illinois? Because I would rather not get a visit from a cyber weirdo.

You FOTTSP weirdos are welcome to visit anytime, I just mean weirdos I don't know as well.

I like to know the weirdos before they visit me. Is that being rude or cliquish? I don't mean to be.

I like to do background checks on cyber weirdo visitors. I'm just funny that way.

And now that Nick is sharing about his Stephen King-like dreams, he's got me worried.

Candy said...

I'm with you Sherri - I have enough weirdos in my life. So put me in NE IA which one could narrow down to about 75 small towns. But it's not like someone can't find me if they tried. Maybe they'll be imaginary cyber weirdos. Which leads us to NtG nightmares. Oh, what a web we weave.

Nick the Geek said...

OK, I've added sherri and Candace Jean. I suggest you look at the note with those listings.

Also, I don't have nightmares. They are only nightmares if they scare you.
