It's been a while since anyone posted here, except of course the infamous anonymous who keeps popping up in an ancient post. So I decided to go even more ancient, and wrote a poem about David...
He was alive a long time ago..
and he wrote the very first Psalm..
He had put words and melodies together
that to the soul today
is still like a balm..
He wrote the Psalms that make the whole world sing...
He wrote Psalms about God and that kind of thing...
He wrote the Psalms that make worshippers cry...
He wrote the Psalms he wrote the Psalms....
His home lies deep within God,
Even though he messed around with Bathsheba
He repented and was forgiven
And no longer needed to feel like an amoeba.
He wrote the Psalms that make the whole world sing...
He wrote Psalms about God and that kind of thing...
He wrote the Psalms that make worshippers cry...
He wrote the Psalms he wrote the Psalms....
Oh his music made him dance,
in the Spirit, and not perchance,
and he played some harp, so Saul could sleep...
God said David was a man after His own heart,
That's more than just a start..
It's from God, It's from he, It's from God, It's from he,
it's an ongoing symphony...
He wrote the Psalms that make the whole world sing...
He wrote Psalms about God and that kind of thing...
He wrote the Psalms that make worshippers cry...
He wrote the Psalms he wrote the Psalms....
What? You think it ought to be set to music? Thank you! Me too! Try out this tune with it...

Just leaving a comment so that this post gets noticed...
Ugh...
Why did you have to put Barry Manilow in my head?
I heart the psalms, but now I can't get that song out of my head!
Katdish, I am not saying this is the reason, but it is POSSIBLE that I was so excited about finding a word that rhymes with Bathsheba, that I got carried away...
Snort!
SNORT. Bathsheba, amoeba. Love it.
And I like Barry Manilow okay. But my favorite song of his is Copacabana.
I feel a poem coming on...
Thanks Helen. Just. Thanks.
That. Was. Freakin. Awesome.
Love it, Helen! Just what I needed this afternoon as I wait for Frank to pick me up because I'm an airhead and left my lights on all day and killed the battery in my car. Sigh...
Word.
I heart Barry.
