The Goats Name is Japeth

I admit it. I watch cartoons. I have no excuse. I don't have any children, yet today my husband and I watched Hoodwinked. I couldn't think of a good excuse to borrow neighbor children. Besides, our nearest neighbors are senior citizens with children older than us. Anyway, I think I found a new mascot for us. Instead of a monkey's butt, how about a goat's head. Watch this and tell me what you think (except of course, Mare, for whom this might bring back memories of a meal she'd rather not think about).
Oh, and the song explains really well why I have all the stuff I do in my purse.

Personally I think we should use the hyperactive squirrel from that movie. It would describe most of us better than a goat with fully accessorize horns.

Speak for yourself, Nick. Helen and I are definitely goats.

And I was going to watch that last night with my kids until I saw it was PG-13!! So I still haven't seen it.

Thanks Beth! I just loved Japeth's exchangeable antlers.
I think that it might have been rated PG 13 because ***************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** SPOILER ALERT*******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

The bunny is bad news. Sereiously. Would you want your kids to see a movie where the bunny is the villain?

I love that movie! That goat is delightfully annoying!

I love the way he has to sing everything he says. Kind of like me singing in the grocery store. And dancing. Okay. Maybe I am slightly more annoying than Japeth.

Helen, you have never annoyed me...

I, however, love singing everything to my kids in "opera voice" until I drive them nuts....it's funny to see a 3 and 4 year-old annoyed at you.

Beth, YES! It drives my husband crazy when I sing "I Want to Rock and Roll All Night (And Party Every Day)" in opera voice. So now I only do it to him when I am doing a chore I hate....Yes. I learned Behavioral Psychology from Skinner (whose blog had the story where he made a baby afraid of a stuffed bunny? I can't find it).

Don't the horns with hair kind of remind you of Blagojevich?

We LOVED that movie here. And you want to know a bit of trivia that we figured out from IMDB? The voice of Japeth was Benji Gaither. Yes, of THE Gaithers. Specifically, Bill and Gloria Gaither's son. I have no idea of the significance of that, but it's ... at least as odd as the song is...

And Beth, I truly can't imagine why it's PG13. Helen's theory might be right. But for goodness' sake, some G movies have cute and cuddly bad guys.

I can't wait to sing and dance with you girls at the store! Practicing my rumba now...
