Okay, so not everyone who reads this blog read MY blog, which frankly is a bit insulting since this blog was, after all, the brainchild of the creator of Hey look a Chicken. Okay - just kidding. I'm just a bit too weird for some people. Whatever...
But over on my SOLO blog, I wrote a post about all the books sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be read, which got me thinking about getting one of those kindles. Does anyone have one or know someone who has one? I'm really curious. If you get one, how much are the "books"? Sounds sort of cool.

My girlfriend has one of the Sony readers... and got 100 free classic books with it. They seem pretty cool, but ultimately you are still reading a screen, so it just doesn't feel the same as a good book. Plus, it makes impulse buying even more of an issue.
That's a little freaky that I just got in to your book post and then I see this one too...that kind of stuff has been happening all day. About kindles: I know Jenners has one (and she has a book blog besides her regular blog) and once in a blue moon has one too. She just talked today about accidentally buying a book that turned out to be ok.
(ps I'm trying very hard not to make all my smiley faces for you. Sometimes I don't even think about it and then *boop* it's there. I'll try to control myself...)
Happy Friday to all the Traveling Smartypants!
Kathy, don't worry about controlling yourself! I don't!

See?
LOL thank you Helen ♥ :-D
I want one, but I'm a geek and want anything electronic.
The book prices are listed on Amazon for books that are available on Kindle. Not all books are available but there are also a few that are Kindle exclusive. I believe King will be releasing a kindle only book.
The books are always cheaper on Kindle than the Amazon price as far as I can tell but you can occasionally find the books for less elsewhere, though it is pretty rare since Amazon is almost always cheaper.
For example, Crazy Love is $10.49 right now at Amazon but the Kindle version is $6.39. About $4 less plus no shipping and instantly available to read. Well almost instant.
Yeah I've looked into it just a little.
Richard - Do you know why she chose to buy a Sony instead of a Kindle? I'm curious.
Kathy - Thanks. I'll check out those blogs. And don't worry about the smiley faces and abbreviations. It doesn't bother me, I just refuse based on my non-conformist principles. Unless, of course, you're only doing it to get on my nerves.
Helen - you suck
Nick - as luck would have it, my husband hearts anything electronic also. When he was getting a haircut today, another client at the salon had one and he really liked it. He rarely buys anything, but he's kind of a gadget geek, so if the reviews are good, he'll probably buy one. The man does his research!
My husband Charlie has the older Kindle. He likes it a LOT. It's especially helpful when traveling. Charlie's always reading a bunch of books at a time, so he loves taking all of them in one device.
The download process is really fast and easy. And you can even subscribe to newspapers that get automatically delivered to your Kindle every day.
I haven't read on it a ton, but Charlie says it really is easy to read the screen. As I'm sure Nick can tell you, they use something they call digital ink. No backlighting, so no eye strain.
Geek ramble over.
The guy who thinks the Kindle 2 is the Kat's meow (no, that's not what he said) is Michael Hyatt, President and CEO of Thomas Nelson Publishing. He tweets about it all the time. Search his blog. He's a cool dude. Plus he tweets really sweet things about his wife, which has nothing to do with the Kindle but makes me believe everything he says. A really awesome God guy.
aww no I would never do that katdish. I just really don't notice it lol too many texts is what I'm blaming!

Hopefully the spacing caries through for that.
Yeah I was worried it wouldn't, but it looked really good before I sent it.
Uh oh, Nick has Sherri-osis. Neither one of you must use Firefox.
But I do like the buny.
Nice bunny. Nice bunny.

I use Firefox.
I prefer herbal tea in those situations.
