And now for something completely different...

Just to tell you, this is an edited version of the original video, which was 5 minutes and 47 seconds of Buddy barking at the cows behind our house. So, you're welcome.

As you can clearly see from the video, the cows are terrified.

We have a Border Collie named Roscoe. Our land backs up to a dairy farm. Roscoe terrorizes the cows daily through the fence. You should be glad Buddy protects your land and famiy like he so dillingently does. If our dogs won't protect us from the vicious ways of bovines, I ask you, who will?

My dog could carry a cow off if he felt like it. He has no particular disdain nor fear of them though.

Seriously I am over 6 foot tall and I can walk upright and hold my dog by the collar. He is freakishly tall but skinny. If I had died in high school and believed in reincarnation I'd say it was me.

He's sayin "Those are cheeseburgers!!" :D

This reminds me of my honeymoon. But instead of Buddy, it was me running up to the fence yelling, "Moo!"

Yeah, I'm sure at that moment Frank thought, "WHAT HAVE I DONE????"

Marni - Your house backs up to a dairy farm? That stinks! (Literally.)

Nick - You are an oddity in my ministry experience. Most pastors I know are either 5'10" or shorter. I bet Matt is tall, too. What do ya'll think? Do you think Matt is tall? Should I go leave an annoying comment on his blog, or should I limit myself to one per day?

did you just call me odd? :)

Yes, by golly, I believe she did. TIME OUT CHAIR!!!

Nick, don't be offended. Katdish considers the word odd a term of endearment. Don't you, Katdish?

The only thing funnier is watching my 100-lb Shepherd/Great Dane mix bark at deer while she hides behind me.

On another note, Katdish, I'm really glad your video didn't have smellavision. Whewie! Outdoor dinner parties at your house must be quite aromatic.

Steph- on the smell-a-vision...that makes two of us!

DOn't send us the smell in a letter either kat. I know you would if you could!

I could be wrong, but I would imagine that the smell of cows in open pasture would not be as bad as the smell of cows in a barn. But then, what do I know? I love the smell of burning gasoline in the morning.....

Smell of cows in open pasture is much better than cows in a barn, but only because it is diluted.

We use to have a house that butted right up to a cow pasture when we were in Oklahoma. That was lovely but most of the time the breeze was going the other way so it wasn't terrible and it was a huge pasture so they didn't spend as much time by our house leaving odors for our enjoyment.

Speaking of scardy dogs, my dog wouldn't go out one night when he was a puppy. By this time he was already pretty big tipping the scales at about 40 lbs so I was really confused why he would go out the door then run right back in barking. It was terrible. I even put him on his leash to try and take him out but he would hide between my legs and bark at the fence. My eyes finally spots a plastic grocery bag on the other side of the fence moving in the wind.

Stupid dog was scared to death by a piece of plastic. Once I went around and grabbed it he sniffed the thing and sorted then did his business and went back inside.

I wonder if dogs can feel embarrassed?
