Fires ravage Australia - Update

Please pray for Joanna and our other Aussie friends

Update from JoAnna: Please feel free to pass on my updates to others who are praying if you feel it would help.

Thank you so much everyone for your support and prayers. It means so much. The death toll keeps rising. i think its at 181 now and it is predicted it may rise to 300. To put the severity of that in perspective the second deadliest fire disaster in Australian history killed 75. It is so very tragic. Now that the fire in my area is out i went for a drive to the affected part of town tonight. Even if you've seen many pictures of it on the news the sight of a pile of charred rubble where a house once stood is very disturbing. The damage was so random. Some people had everything on their property burn but the next door neighbors were just fine. The fire randomly stopped at the edge of some properties but kept going into others. Why some people were so unfortunate when many others near them were fine is hard to make sense of.

I am praying ,but you need to change the spelling on Austrailia.

The correct spelling is Australia.

Thanks for your prayers. Although I am not in the affected area, I know many who are. I can't believe over 800 homes have been destroyed and over 150 people killed ... so far! :(
Thanks again.

I was reading about the fire in Australia and we REALLY need to be praying for those in that area. And to all of our Aussie friends, I'm praying like crazy for you guys.

Sorry to add another devastating prayer request to the awful apocalyptic fires that have been destroying Victoria (I've been crying all day!) but there's been terrible flooding up in northern Queensland, Australia. Your prayers for this would also be greatly appreciated.

Also, if you'd like to do something to physically help those affected by the tragic fires, you could visit "www.redcross.org.au" and follow the links to donate to the fire relief effort.

Thanks so much for all your prayer and support for my country,
Chelsi
